London: Day 2

Following on from the John Foxx concert at The Roundhouse, I enjoyed several more days in London. Over the next few days I will post some pictorial reports...

Day two of the London trip saw a visit to Madame Tussaud's...

...where many a famous person resides, albeit in a particularly waxy form. Be warned if you are planning a trip: there is often a very long queue, but it's worth the effort.

See how many celebrities you recognise.

After that, it was off to the Baker Street Chess Centre (quite to close to Madame Tussaud's) to record the first of four chess interviews (further details of the interviews will follow in due course).

Next up was a trip to the theatre...

Henry Irving

The Garrick Theatre, where I saw 'All the Fun of the Fair', starring David Essex, Louise English and Christopher Timothy. The fun fair is in town, and the son of David Essex is in love with the Christopher Timothy's daughter. This leads to the inevitable town v gypsy trouble...and, wait! That shotgun we saw in scene 1; surely that's going to be fired at some point!?

The plot is broken up by numerous David Essex songs (although not all sung by him in the play). I thought it was all great entertainment.

For more details about the play, the official website is here:

There was just time to pop along to Trafalgar Square, where several amusing living statues awaited my perusal, plus numerous other fine sights.

Viva la Trafalgar pigeons!
